Security Update | October 5, 2017
We are deeply saddened by the events that took place in Las Vegas this week. Your safety is our top priority.
MGM Resorts International, operators of Mandalay Bay, has reached out to LRP to discuss the security of attendees at NWCDC.
MGM Resorts International has committed to an increased security presence, including but not limited to increased security presence at critical locations, K-9 sweeps of major public gathering areas, enhanced local law enforcement presence on property, restricted vehicle parking on or near the building perimeter, selective vehicle searches, 24-hour key check at guest elevator lobby, and active surveillance of critical locations.
Over the coming weeks we will be working closely with MGM Resorts International, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Las Vegas authorities to assess any additional security measures needed to ensure the safety of our attendees.
For each conference hotel a daily resort fee of $25 + tax will be added at check-in which includes in-room high speed internet. Check with each hotel for a current list of additional included amenities.
Important Scam Alert
Please be aware that some convention housing and expo travel agencies are fraudulently representing themselves as our "housing vendor" and contacting individuals in the NWCDC’s community, soliciting business. Specifically, they will offer to make hotel reservations within NWCDC’s block on your behalf, or even offer you a discount from NWCDC’s rate.
NWCDC is not utilizing the services of any housing service for NWCDC. Hotel reservations for NWCDC should be made directly with the hotel, either by phone or via our web reservation link. The official conference hotels with guaranteed rates are listed in the official conference brochure and on this web site. If you provide your credit card information to any of these unauthorized vendors, your card may be charged but you may not have a reservation when you arrive in Las Vegas.
Registrants are responsible for making their hotel reservations. Contact the hotel directly and be sure to identify yourself as a NWCDC registrant. Please check with the hotel about its cancellation and advance deposit policies. A limited block of rooms is being held at both hotels until November 8, 2017 or until the block is sold out.
If you reserve more than 10 rooms, you may be required to sign a contract. If you require an ADA accessible room, we strongly encourage you to make your hotel reservations early and communicate your needs to the hotel.
